Join JASGP for a movie night, hosted by Dr. Frank Chance. We’ll be using Zoom for a synchronized home viewing of Mary and the Witch's Flower (available on Netflix or for rent on most streaming platforms) followed by a light discussion. Everyone will join the call, and watch the film simultaneously on their own devices.
Mary and the Witch's Flower (メアリと魔女の花 or Meari to Majo no Hana) is a 2017 Japanese animated fantasy film directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi. The first feature film by Studio Ponoc, it is based on The Little Broomstick by Mary Stewart.
The film follows a girl named Mary Smith who, a magical flower that allows her to become a witch for one night. The dub features Ruby Barnhill, Kate Winslet, and Jim Broadbent.
