Join Urasenke tea school during the 2024 Cherry Blossom Festival for a unique Japanese matcha tea experience. Unlike our traditional, hour long tea ceremony demonstrations held at Shofuso, the "Matcha in the Greenhouse" event will focus on intimate gatherings for groups of up to 3 to 4 people at a time (couples and single guests are also welcomed), hosted in a private tatami mat setting. These shorter tea drinking experiences, tailored to approximately 15 minute sittings, will allow guests more time to enjoy the rest of the festival during their visit. Each guest will receive a tea and sweet while experiencing the informal tea making process.
This event will be held in the Horticulture Center Greenhouse Space, not Shofuso Japanese House. Please arrive early to deal with traffic, parking, and making your way through the festival. Parking can be found off of Belmont Ave near the Ohio House for $10.
